Australia's first Australian Champion bitch.

The first Australian Champion titles were awarded in 1969 to littermates Ch Serengeti Sanya (in New South Wales) and Ch Serengeti Sambu (in Victoria).

To become eligible to apply for the title "AUSTRALIAN CHAMPION", a dog must have won not less than 100 points with 25 points awarded after the age of 12 months. .
Points are calculated as follows:
Dog and Bitch Challenge 5 points + 1 for each in sex in Breed
Best of Breed - 5 points + 1 for each dog and bitch judged in the Breed
Best in Group - 5 points + 1 for each exhibit judged in the Group (maximum 25 points at any one show)
Best in Show - 5 points + 1 for each exhibit judged in the show (maximum 25 points at any one show)

To become eligible to apply for the title "NEUTER CHAMPION", a dog a dog must have won not less than 100 points competing in the Neuter Class.
Currently this title is only available in New South Wales.
